Sorry Dan. Love your work over the years but I really think you dropped the ball on this one.
The questions were way to soft/restrained/conservative and were more on the "mainstream" spectrum. Therefore, it was nearly impossible to get a real grasp on the guy. After the interview, I am still clueless about who he is and what he stands for. (and I'm a 51 year old Canadian who has seen a lot).
A simple follow-up question regarding the Deep State could so easily have been:
Do you believe there is a Deep State in the US?
This question alone would have given a great opportunity to see just how clueless/useless the guy is or not. Such a missed opportunity!
This politician appears run-of-the-mill sweet talking type.
Sad.
He did ask about the deep state. Bernier said he "didn't believe in it". You're not gonna get any better than that at this level. Try asking that to any other politician in the country right now. They won't even respond. Bernier agreed to meet because Dicks knows where to draw the line. Your comment makes sense and I hear what you're saying, but the sad reality is that there is a huge political and voter base that doesn't have a clue about any of this stuff, and politicians take those folk seriously, because they vote.
Thank you for your comment @davidward. I still feel it was a lost opportunity though. People, especially those in the alternative media sphere, need to pose more direct and pointed questions to these puppet politicians no matter what avenue is used. At the very least, it will send them a message that we know about what really goes on behind the scenes and can indirectly tell them: We are watching you very closely.
