When thinking of no-knock raids, you envision hostage situations, active shooters, and kidnappings. Violent, urgent, critically dangerous circumstances.
However, those cases account for only 7% of no-knock warrants, while an estimated 79% were executed in drug related search raids. Astoundingly, 65% of those yielded no contraband of any sort.
Breonna Taylor was one of these cases.
No-knock raids are common practice. Their use has increased substantially as a tool to fight the war on drugs. It's time to end the practice across the country.
