That is precisely the point, @lost.identity! The home invasion stuff is the diversion. Evil men can get some guns and kill 50 people. Evil men that can manage to gain power in a government can kill 50 million - and guns in the hands of the people is the main obstacle to that.

And if you mean another country.. well you guys have over 8000 nuclear bombs. Who the *&^&^ needs 8000 nukes. Huge waste of money. If you cut your annual nuclear spending by 20% you could probably solve world hunger.
If evil men gained control of your government and wanted to kill 50 million, they wouldnt be using guns. They would be using your nuclear weapons.
Look at these stats. You have the highest homicide rate on the planet and the highest gun violence rates on the planet. You have the most mass shootings. You have the most kids getting a hold of their dads gun and hurting or killing themselves.
