We all have our reasons and you don't know me enough to conclude what mine may be. There's no reason to make this personal or to presume my motives.

Very well. What is your reason for constructing an undefeatable Boogeyman, if not that you can fight him forever and feel good about it?

People love to fight evil, it gives their lives meaning. I don't fault you for this tendency, but you're fighting an imaginary evil and you haven't real goals.

Fighting an endless battle doesn't feel good. I believe in doing the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do, and trust me, that can feel pretty awful at times. As for constructing a boogeyman, I didn't create racism. We as individuals contribute to persisting, but it is not something we individually construct. That is precisely why we shouldn't pretend it doesn't exist. It's bigger than one person, but we all participate in it even if we pretend we don't.

Racism in the US is de minimis, effectively not an issue. I just won't make a mountain out of a molehill.
