RE: Dash Banned In Las Vegas For Being A 'Scamcoin' (The Cryptoverse #73)

in #news8 years ago

If you take a look at my feed you'll see how The Cryptoverse podcast works. I do the same thing 7 days a week which is to take something newsworthy and provide commentary.

By doing this I am adding value to the original content by adding audio narration and commentary, all the while giving full credit to the author.

I often use Bitcoin.com for the articles. They posted the article about the Bitcoin.com bus situation and that was my inspiration for today's episode.

The Cryptoverse is free for everyone Monday to Friday and then the weekend episodes are bonus episodes I create just for members.

I do not discriminate between which stories go public and which ones are private. It just depends on what day they fall on.

In this case the story fell on a weekend... which means it goes into the members area.

I think it slightly unfair that I spend 2 hours per day x 5 days per week putting together the weekday episodes of The Cryptoverse free for everyone to consume. Then when I make an offer to sign up for a paid membership (which is income I require in order to sustain the production of content) I get a comment like this.

The final thing I will say is that there is indeed a 22 minute episode of The Cryptoverse, hosted inside the members area that does an analysis of the article and provides me interpretation of the situation.

If you don't deem this valuable enough to pay for, that's fine. Just wait until Monday when the next free episode will be published.

Thanks for the background information. I wasn't aware of this context, and got frustrated when I just ran straight into a paywall with no promised content. As you're probably aware, that kind of marketing gimmicks are quite common elsewhere in the Internet nowadays, and I would like to see Steemit as an alternative to that.

The way you laid it out in your reply makes the situation look a lot better, and I apologize for lashing out. Maybe the lesson for the future here is to clarify the paywall in your weekend posts, so other new potential listeners can understand the situation better as well :)

I'll follow you for future content.
