Mahathir slashes ministers' salary...........
Malaysia's new Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad has adopted the policy of reducing government spending. The first program to start the cost is started by the ministers. He told the decision to reduce ministers' salary by 10 percent.
After taking office for the second time as Mahathir, he held weekly meetings with cabinet members on Wednesday. After the meeting, at the press conference in Putrajaya, he announced to cut 10 percent salary.
After taking oath as the seventh Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir said that the heads of several government offices will be excluded. We have seen some people have supported the former prime minister. But the whole world calls him the ruler to steal wealth.
Mahathir said, "It is the reason for the reduction of salary (salary reduction), to highlight the country's economic problems." He said that we are concerned about the economic problems of the country. The government has to reduce the debt taken. The debt has gone up to $ 250 billion. This is equal to 65 percent of our GDP.
Prior to Mahathi, Najib Razak, who had lost in the elections, claimed that 55 percent of the loan amount is GDP.
After the first time in 1981, Mahathir Mohammed reduced the wages of ministers and bureaucrats after becoming Prime Minister. He is going to do this again. But ministers in the country are less than the bureaucrats' salaries.
According to Malaysian Parliament's website, the country's Prime Minister receives 22,827 rings, the deputy prime minister 18 thousand 168 rings, ministers 14 thousand 907 rings, the deputy minister receives salary in 10 thousand 884 rings.
