Retail giant Walmart was reported to file a new patent to utilize blockchain technology for a smarter package delivery tracking system that would record information regarding the contents of the package, its environmental conditions, its location and more leading to greater security. This latest application is added to Walmart’s efforts to apply blockchain technology to other areas of its business.

Blockchain is a revolutionary technology and will be adopted by many organizations. This is what scares me about BTC when people call it a "store of value".
Me too, although I find that term almost solely used as a counter-argument when BTC is described as a difficult to spend item.
