I think some people (leftists) associate bitcoin with those characteristics because bitcoin is based on strict property rights (which they believe can only be enforced through the state, i.e. hierarchy and central planning). In this sense bitcoin is anti-egalitarian since it's opposed to measures such as income redistribution.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of free markets and voluntary cooperation. Voluntary hierarchies have the consent of the individuals and they are free to break up and reassembly at will. There is no central authority (coercive force) involved.
