##The solution given by the UN ##
(UN representative symbolic flag, of its authorship)
Beginning of the eleventh century, people still suffer from hunger, having enough resources as humanity, we could eradicate this problem that plagues many countries today.
The solution that the UN gave in 2013 was for people to incorporate edible insects into their diet, although in some continents, this is more socially accepted, for example the Asian and African continent are the ones that most report a diet in which are present insects.
Perfect, now let's get to the point ...
Why eat insects?
What is special about our friends with multiple legs and eyes, that animals do not?
Perfect, the UN, or rather the FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), an indication that entomogaphy (to the intake of arthropod insects, or others) is one of the best ways to greatly reduce dependence on red and white meats , better explained in the following quote:
"Why eat insects?
In general, entomophagy can be promoted for three reasons:
• Health:
- Insects are healthy and nutritious alternatives to basic foods such as chicken,
Pork, veal and even fish (from the ocean catch). - Many insects are rich in protein and good fats and high in calcium, iron and zinc.
- Insects are already a traditional part of many regional and national diets.
•Environmental: - Insects promoted as food emit considerably less greenhouse gases (GHG) than
most cattle (methane, for example, is produced by only a few groups of insects,
like termites and cockroaches). - Insect farming is not necessarily a land activity and does not require
land cleaning to expand production. Food is the main requirement for the land. - Ammonia emissions associated with insect breeding are also much lower than
those linked to conventional livestock, such as pigs. - Because they are cold blooded, insects are very efficient in converting food into
protein (crickets, for example, need 12 times less food than cattle, four times less
food that sheep, and half of food that pigs and broilers to produce
the same amount of protein) - Insects can feed on organic waste streams.
• Livelihoods (economic and social factors): - Insect collection / breeding is a low-tech and low capital investment option that offers
entry to even the poorest sectors of society, such as women and the landless. - The minilivestock offer livelihood opportunities for the urban and rural population.
- Insect breeding can be low tech or very sophisticated, depending on the level
investment."

With this fact some concerns also come, since much less resources are needed for the breeding of insects, and their production could be mass easily, what remains to be asked would be about the environmental disasters that could be triggered by a misuse, or a failure in the hatcheries.
Returning to the FAO article, this document highlights that in Central Africa there is a high probability of being able to use an existing species of Caterpillars to start hatcheries or start massive collections, and then talk about other countries such as Thailand, Mexico and the Republic Democratic of Lao. It is also made clear that there are species of insects that are considered pests, which could be treated in other ways that would greatly benefit us, humans ...
Here a table with some insects that we could use, since they have a large percentage of fats and proteins that can enter our diet in a great way:
(From the FAO article)
The truth is that it is incredible how the food industry has not yet fully ventured with insects, seeing that they have as many benefits as those of high productivity, a high concentration of them, in addition, being insects can be given up to residues that are going to be well fed, not only is that, but also very little water is needed for a large number of them, and this is a great advantage in any field, since in countries like Chad, where the resource of Water is very important, you could not afford to waste water on cattle or others, however if in crickets or other insects, this proposal is very viable.
Well, that's it, I hope you enjoyed reading, and see you soon!
Well, now UN favours a vegan diet as well as a vegan lifestyle.
Hi! That's true, becouse the vegan diet is help there is less pollution by the meat industry (eg beef)!
