Marine Corps Budi Santoso from Bataliyon Intai Amphibi-2 Unit came out as the winner in a swimming contest across the Sunda Strait which was held at the weekend in order to commemorate the Marine Corps anniversary. Marine Corps Budi managed to beat 289 other marines by touching the finish line first on Saturday (3/3/2018) at around 07:05 pm. He recorded the fastest time in swimming as far as 39 kilometers. With a time of 9 hours 29 minutes 56 seconds, Kopda Marine Budi at once broke the previous record recorded 9 hours 47 minutes and 5 seconds recorded Praka Mar Tayuri from Yonif-4 Marines at the same event in 1996. In second place is Praka Marinir Putu Arsana from Denjaka with a record time of 9 hours 46 minutes 37 seconds, while in third place is Letda Mar Marcel Galih from Yonif-4 Marines with a record time of 9 hours 48 minutes 32 seconds.
