BabelOn is a San Francisco startup that is working on a translator whose voice synthesizer will use our own voice to reformulate the sentences into another language.
They are developing a hardware / software device that not only can translate a sentence in real time but also play our voice instead of using a vocal synthesizer.
The device analyzes our voice, identifying the components that make it unique and recognizable, to reproduce them during the conversation, in any language of our choice.
The hardware component was developed in collaboration with the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, a federal institution focused on the development of scientific and technological solutions, but the startup did not want to give much details about its nature and its functioning.
