Bitcoin

🔼 This week seven individuals were arrested for running illegal bitcoin exchange operations in Nepal. According to Nepal’s Central Investigation Bureau (CIB), the suspects were trading bitcoins without authorization and the agency’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Jeevan Kumar Shrestha says this is one of the first cryptocurrency arrests of this magnitude. https://goo.gl/eqRgtT

🔼 The U.S. Department of Justice recently claimed the proceeds from the sale of 144,336 bitcoins found in Ross Ulbricht’s laptop, gained from Silk Road’s seizure in 2013. Claiming the proceeds took a couple of years, and netted the government little over $48 million. Which would today be around $600 Million.https://goo.gl/oAp27v

Ethereum

🔼It has been hard for months now for PC enthusiasts and gamers to find the video cards they want, because miniers have been buying them up to mine whatever their preferred cryptocurrency might be. Back in late September, we talked about prices for GeForce GTX 10 Series video cards possibly climbing due to a DRAM shortage and Ethereum miners. Now we have some new dedicated cards for miners coming to market from Inno3D that won't help the DRAM shortage, but might at least lure miners away from the cards gamers are searching for. https://goo.gl/Xmzuk5

🔼Alaska governor Bill Walker signed the Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act into law, establishing a legal framework that defines the ways in which an individual’s digital assets, including cryptocurrency, can be entrusted to the care of a custodian. The act also spells out the laws regulating what that custodian can and cannot do with the digital assets in question. Introduced by six democratic state representatives and one independent, it goes into effect on October 31, 2017. https://goo.gl/61LsRr

Blockchain News

🔼 With the increasing fear of voting fraud, Blockchain projects can now secure a digital ballot box or voting system based on Blockchain to prevent voter fraud during elections. Once cast, votes would be unalterable results and available for everyone to see. Under a Blockchain system, voters are able to cast their votes from their mobile phones or personal computers, which are then logged into an immutable Blockchain and utilized to reliably verify the results of the election.https://goo.gl/up1F1a
