Thanks for the thoughtful reply @spectrumecons. Laws aren't the right tool to combat law breakers. Murder is already illegal so why would murders respect gun laws? Gun free zones are ripe with unarmed victims. Armed targets are harder to kill in large numbers. Armed targets have the means to impose consequences on those who instigate violence.
