Talking about presidents of countries can be tricky as it would be wading into the murky waters of politics, but how about medical conditions? Especially, the 'mental health' kinds?
It came as a shocker to me that some experts in the field of psychiatry, who were attending a conference at Yale, to declare publicly and jointly, that the present president of the USA, Donald Trump, has a “dangerous mental illness” and is not fit to lead the US!
For someone who is not a citizen of the US I am stunned. Most look at the US as a country for leadership and here we have a bunch of guys, who seem to be experts at their jobs, that the president is basically 'sick' in the head and should be removed!
In fact one of them, Mr. James Gilligan, a psychiatrist and professor at New York University had this to say
I’ve worked with murderers and rapists. I can recognise dangerousness from a mile away. You don’t have to be an expert on dangerousness or spend fifty years studying it like I have in order to know how dangerous this man is
And the written document they released regarding this also stated that
We, the undersigned mental health professionals (please state your degree), believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States.
And we respectfully request he be removed from office, according to article 4 of the 25th amendment to the Constitution, which states that the president will be replaced if he is 'unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office'.
That is a powerful indictment of a man who is looked upon for leadership around the world especially in these times of a global epidemic. But how true are there findings? Does this give a new perspective to modern times or is it just round of politics which has gone too far?
You be the judge on that and click here to read more.
