So this Tuesday is President Trump's first State of the Union. It promises to be must see tv. I expect the ratings to be through the roof as people watch to see what just might happen. Here are a few of my predictions:
- At some point he will go off script. I'm certain his inner circle is working very hard to keep him on script, but we'll see if they can pull it off. If you recall back when he was just candidate Trump, there was a huge difference between when he was on and off the teleprompter.
- He is going to call out democrats for being two faced. Much like he uses his Twitter account, he will use this opportunity to talk directly to the people and things get kinda punchy when he does that. I think Durbin & Schumer will be called to the mat.
- He will start and end on the economy.
- He will address Healthcare only in passing and in doing so will state that it is the Democrats baby and if dies it is because it is their fault.
- Lots of immigration talk. This will be the bulk of his speech. As much as some democrats might hate it, there are lots of people on both sides of the political spectrum that will sacrifice the Wall for DACA or DACA for the Wall.
One thing is for certain, it will be fun. Make sure to tune on Wednesday as @ThePoliticalPost and I recap the whole night.
