LOS ANGELES - SpaceX satellite is launched into space from South California, United States (US) secretly. Local public was surprised to see a vehicle flying along the state sky and mistook it as Unidentified Flying Object (UFO).
The Falcon 9 rocket launched 10 satellites into low Earth orbit on Friday night from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, about 158 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The launch was a rare sight for millions of people in Los Angeles on Friday night.
Falcon 9 is part of a two-stage-to-orbit vehicle family. The space exploration program is funded by billionaire Elon Musk.
Some residents in South California are unaware of the satellite launch. They are busy discussing it in social media.
"I thought I saw a UFO, if you were in Compton did you see it in the sky? We need an answer #Aliens #ufo #compton, never seen anything like that !!, "wrote an Instagram user from Compton, Los Angeles County, under the name locallybakedglass account.
"This just happened in LA night sky. Not sure what it is, but it must be amazing to watch, "writes Los Angeles resident Emely Von Oest on Twitter.
Other citizens, Alex Savidge via Twitter account @AlexSavidgeKTVU wrote; "Seriously, what did I see in the sky above LA? Crazy!"
