"They are a blatant interference in China's internal affairs and a serious violation of international law, the basic norms of international relations and the will of the Chinese and American peoples, as well as the international community," said Yang Jiechi, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCP), cited by the Venezuelan News Agency.
Yang spoke via telephone with the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, on this matter, and clarified that "US officials have made repeated statements that distort and attack China's political and internal and external political system."
He also confirmed that "China strongly opposes and strongly condemns these laws."
In the last 70 years, since the founding of the People's Republic of China, there have been great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention, said Yang, who added that it is under the direction of the Communist Party that the Chinese people have found the way of development adjusted to the national conditions of China.
Finally, Yang said that China urges the US side to arrive at a clear assessment of the situation, correct its mistakes and immediately stop slandering China and interfering with China's internal affairs.
U.S.'s national policy is to contain and impede China from rising further so the rivalry between these two superpowers will not end anytime soon. Looks like this confrontation will last for many decades.
