After many years of construction chaos the Nova Centre has finally opened their Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Very impressive structure with architectural attributes that resemble the rising sail of a ship in keeping with our marine heritage in Halifax. The facility has over 1 million square feet of space, spanning several blocks, with the largest ballroom providing a hosting capacity for 3,000 people.
Today's opening had some local East Coast Music provided.
You can see the Georges Island lighthouse in the distance from that space.
The downtown skyline continues to rise with this new building "looking down" on some of the heritage buildings below it.
The Carleton has been a center for great east cost music, and now has a nicely refurbished mixed use street for pedestrians and vehicles.
Now you can also see the "secret" rooftop patio on top of the Wooden Monkey.
BMO (Bank of Montreal) is nicely nestled in a corner of the new retail section, near where the new entrance to the hotel will be.
