20 people were injured in the clash between two groups on the election of Charchandha High School Management Committee in Bhedarganj upazila of Shariatpur. During the clash, Sub-Inspector Rezaul Karim of Sakhipur Police Station was hit on his eyes and head. The injured were admitted to Bidarganj Upazila Health Complex and Shariatpur Sadar Hospital. This incident happened on Friday evening at around 7:30 in the evening.
Sakhipur Police Station Officer-in-Charge Manjurul Haque said that there is a dispute between the former president of the school Amin Hawlader and former head teacher Taro Hawlader about the election of Charchanda High School Management Committee. They give separate panels in two elections. In the election, nine members contested. Five of them were elected. The five Amin Howlader Panels. After declaration of results, Amin Howlader's supporters brought a procession in Charchanda Bazar with the winners. They attacked the supporters of Hawlader on the procession. The clash started between the two sides. At least 20 people were injured in hour-long clashes.
