On January 21, 2018, the Philadelphia Eagles faced off against the Minnesota Vikings for the NFC Championship and the chance to play in the Super Bowl. The Eagles won — and after the game, a heartwarming video of one of the player’s wives went viral.
After the Eagles lost their star quarterback Carson Wentz for the season on December 11, 2017, many critics counted the team out. However, they ended up defeating the Vikings 38-7, winning in dominating fashion and silencing many nonbelievers in the process.
Much of the Eagles’ success was due to their star players, including pro bowl Tight End Zach Ertz. But it was Zach’s wife Julie who stole at least a bit of the show, due to her emotional reaction to finding out her husband’s team had just secured their ticket to the Super Bowl.
According to CBS Philly, Julie Ertz — a midfielder for the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team — had been finishing up a training game in San Diego against Denmark when she got the news.
ESPN reported that Julie received a text saying the Eagles had won and would be going to the Super Bowl.
The team filmed a video of her overwhelmed reaction on the field, and it quickly went viral after being posted on Twitter.
