A lot of this injustice is due to private correction institutions lobbying against drug reform. That is, they are spending time and money to profit off of people being thrown in cages unjustly. Absolutely disgusting.

Not only the private correction institutions, who I am sure would gladly charge the government thousands of dollars for a short stay before the pedophile is shanked in the shower, but also the pharmaceutical, paper, textile, and fossil fuel lobbies. All of whom would be negatively affected by marijuana and hemp's legalization.
