Elon Musk got questioned many times in regards to the name of the new Tesla Model 3. Many claim it would be confusing as it´s leading people to believe in it being the 3rd Generation of electric Cars and therefore the latest version offered. But actually the Model 3 is "just" a smaller and cheaper version of the famous Model S, not it´s succeeding model.
Like you could already see/read in the top quote of this Post, Elon Musk originally intended to call the car Model E instead of Model 3. He claims that this was actually based on dumb humor reasons as all the models names would have added up to the word "SEX"...
Anyways the Name "Model E" was already reserved by Ford, who sued Tesla therefore and forced them to look for another name instead. Due to this Elon Musk came up with the Model 3 as it would still keep the original humor in some way adding up to "S3X" in the end...

It´s really a fun fact that I like about Elon Musk. He´s probably one of the greatest Entrepreneurs of our times but things like this show that he´s still just a normal guy after all :)

I really like all the Cars from Tesla and would love to get one of them one day :) Especially the Model S is simply a dream car in my opinion but unfortunately still too much for my financial possibilities...

Model S is still a dream car.
But only when the Gigafactory is complete the revolution can begin. Currently prices are still in favor of gasoline.
True Story! The Gigafactory will give another push to this revolution but for some more years we will have to rely on the gasoline models for sure

Fair enough, Gasoline cars will still dominate the roads for some years for sure as you are still more flexible with them and got a higher range.
