Star Wars star Harrison Ford has paid an enthusiastic tribute to Chewbacca entertainer Peter Mayhew, who has passed on matured 74, saying: "I adored him."

Passage and Mayhew's characters were dear companions and guided the Millennium Falcon. "We were accomplices in film and companions in life for more than 30 years and I adored him," said Ford.
"He put his spirit in the character and conveyed incredible delight to the Star Wars group of onlookers."
Star Wars maker George Lucas had needed a tall on-screen character to play Chewbacca and at first thought to be 6ft 6in (1.98m) David Prowse for the job.
