I got hit with one of these viruses a year or so ago. I just laughed, and flipped my power strip off. Then I reloaded the image I took of my main drive, rebooted and I was up and running again within a half hour or so. I don't keep any important data on my PC. My documents are kept on an encrypted folder on a separate device and I only mount the folder when I'm using the files. When I'm done I lock the folder and disconnect the device. i HIGHLY recommend everyone do so. Keeping your operating system on the same drive as your important data is putting too many of your eggs in one basket.
