BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has sent a legal notice to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Khaleda Zia's lawyer sent this notice after the Prime Minister gave her statement about the assets. It was sent yesterday by mail.
Khaleda Zia's lawyer Mahbub Uddin Khokan told reporters after the Special Judge Court-5 set up at Old Dhaka's Aliya Madrasa field on Wednesday.
Mahbub Uddin Khokan told reporters that Khaleda Zia has no shopping malls or assets abroad. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's speech is defamatory for Khaleda Zia. If his statement is not withdrawn, legal action will be taken against him. Notice has been made to withdraw the statement within 30 days.
On December 7, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a press conference at her official residence Ganobhaban to highlight different aspects of Cambodia tour. There he said about Khaleda Zia and her family, the issue of their illegal money abroad is coming out in different countries. These are not the government of Bangladesh. So apologies should be sought by them. The Prime Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the report of the country's media in the Saudi Arabia that the report was not published in the media.
