Sweet. I love this plug in and play systems. Sega is releasing one in September that has 85 games. That is a nice collection. You are looking at all three Golden Axes, shinbois, Sonics and Phantasy Stars. I think there is even an old slot where you can actually put in Sega cartridges. I wonder if I still have mine somewhere... Plus it comes with two wireless controllers.
There are some games missing though that I would have liked to see. Streets of Rage for one, I'm surprised that is missing. Also splatter house and Road Rash. But if I can find cartridge maybe I can just buy them and play it on this one. And all my steem money goes to a sega collection :p.
I would also like to see a Sega CD version of this. I do not know if it would be possible because their games take up more space but that would be awesome. Sega CD was unique as a lot of their games had actually footage and actors and it was something you don't see anymore in gaming. But for now I will be, finally, playing Phantasy Star
What games would you play?

I cant wait to get my hands on one of these babies.
I just checked out your "where you stand on self upvotes" post.
I could not find anything I disagree with. Thank s for your honesty.
You and me both. And thank you for the kind words.
Still an OG and prefer the original hardware. Was playing some splatterhouse 3 last night!
Yes, I will need to borrow that game when I get one of these
hmm, will it be a "mini" version as well, like the nes/snes from nintendo?
You can get a mini Sega Genesis @compuxparts It can play thousands of games and over 40 systems.
Looks like a really solid machine, though about half of the games aren't actually Sega Genesis games, but new games added to pad the numbers of games included.
I love that it outputs 720p and supports actual cartridges!
Yeah the cartridge feature is a real nice add-on
That is awesome, this was my first console, the one in your photo, the MegaDrive. What memories! :)

This looks more thought through than the nes and snes mini which contains very few games, No wireless controllers, no ability to insert old cartridges. Way to go Sega!
Hmmmm - this is very cool on the one hand, but I feel I've paid enough to Sega and its licensors now for pretty much this exact list of games. I've bought them on PS3 for the ultimate Megadrive collection, bought them on Steam for PC to play with my Steam Link in the lounge, AND got a collection for PSP. I'm a huge fan, having had the original Megadrive since I got it from my dad as a Christmas present in 1992. Played that system to death! 😀
But to buy another console to play games I already own isn't really the smartest move! The major appeal for me for a system like this is the cartridge slot. That's fantastic. Also, another amazing feature would be if it could load ROMs from a usb stick. I'd consider that a game changer!
Thanks for the post - great share.
