Facebook launched Blood Donation Hub in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan
Facebook's 'Blood Donation' feature button is added to the specific place on their platform, through which it can easily find blood donation programs, blood banks, and nearby blood bank information. On June 14, the 'Blood Donation' feature was launched on Facebook on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. Blood Donation will be added to the Facebook website as a new option.
A Facebook notification said that with the help of feature, people of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan can donate blood to their near ones. In addition to this, Facebook has launched various programs to increase the awareness about blood deficiency, the effect of blood donation and the importance of these countries.
Those who use Facebook's donation feature, they can sign up as a donor on Facebook. If you have any blood nearby, you will receive a sign-up notification as a blood donor on Facebook.
So far, over 10 million people have signed up as a donor on Facebook and many have taken advantage of this with Facebook.
Facebook's notification also said that in many countries of the world including Bangladesh, the amount of blood donor is usually the lowest in May and June. Facebook is running a program around June to make common people aware about the shortage and needs of blood donors and to encourage their blood donation. Besides, providing enough training on the process of donating blood through Facebook and sharing stories of those who came forward to save lives through the use of Facebook features.
