RE: Democrats Want 30 Billion for a Tunnel, Say Trumps Hesitance is "Political"

in #news7 years ago

I live on Long Island which is a suburb of NYC. I am a Nurse and so is my wife and we make enough to just make it. A lot of people think infrastructure in NYC benefits only the elites and the rich and yeah there are a lot of dicks but if you look at the map mostly the entire state votes Red and hates the libtard PC BS that had been going on but I digress ... the tunnel would help middle class workers who work in the city, much like my father, who lives on Long Island, the tunnel would help those that do not live in skyscrapers to get to work and back more than anything. But I think Trump is just playing hardball right now bc NY voted Blue and Schumer is going to have to pay and be hung out before Trump gives in, but I think eventually will. After all that is more business for the Tri-State area, which will only help the larger economy of the region. But yeah that $30M will be $120M before it is completed, 5 years after projected timeframes. My $0.02.

What I mean to say is this infrastructure is for the workers of NYC and not the rich people who live within Manhattan. If you look at the geography many people travel from Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and Upstate NY. The other boroughs of NYC have become so “gentrified” that families can not afford to live there nor want to in most cases as most of the state is RED (R) while Manhattan is strongly BLUE (D).
