The incident occurred when Evaldas Rimasauskas engineered a scam through the theft of identity, forgery of documents and money laundering.
His scheme consisted in charging false invoices to Facebook and Google for two years, in which he sent these documents for false purchases allegedly made by these companies.
To complete his theft, Rimasauskas falsified signatures and seals, in order to convert the documents into his best strategy with which he stole 122 million dollars over two years.
Such amount and the period in which the money was stolen, gives us an idea of the economic capacity that both technology companies have, to pay for two years more than 100 million dollars purchases that were never carried out.
To make his scam work, Rimasauskas created a ghost company called Quanta Computer Inc with a fictitious headquarters in Taiwan.
Once he collected his cash, he took it to Cyprus, Lithuania, Hungary, Slovakia and Latvia.
Bloomberg has reported that Rimasauskas now awaits a sentence on July 24.
