The first trailer for The Mummy is pitting Tom Cruise against a 5,000-year-old threat.

My God...This has been done to death and not one has come close to the classics with Karloff- The Mummy or Frankenstein. In the case of Frankenstein, they focus on the monster and not the story that the book tells (even the Karloff classic). That's what I'd like to see. The "pop culture" mummies never captured the essence of the original so they replace it with gimmicky plot twists and special effects. Give it up!
