What is the first thought that normally comes into your mind when you wake up in the morning especially a day that begins a new year? Do you really rejoice in the new day that’s ahead of you? Barely out of bed do you declare “Your glory and mercies are new to me this morning.…...glory to You, LORD!!! For I am victorious over all my enemies”.
Or sometimes, are your thoughts more along the lines of “This new day is going to be very difficult I wish it were already over!”? As if worry were to be like a rising wave in your heart, a wave so high and strong you feel it could swallow you whole. As if you had no chance to stand against it…..
God is our source of all peace, life and joy! I really want to encourage you not to allow these thoughts to drown you. The Book of Jeremiah 1:8 says “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, The LORD declares.”
I do not know they “them” that frightens you, but I know the God who says “I am with you” will surely rescue you in everything. When anxiety knocks on the door of your heart, boldly answer that your God is greater than any and every source of anxiety because He is the source of all peace, all life and all joy. Always declare that this God lives in you.
The beginning of every new year is something special for every individual. A time for remembering the past years and hoping for a better year than the previous ones. But the question is "how prepared are we to face the new year especially the people that live around us?"
Whenever we are dealing with people, we must always remember that there is an existence of tomorrow and for that reason we will need them. Who knows, you might end up needing help from the same people who are asking you for your help today so help them. Life is just like a moving wheel never stagnant at a particular point, you will sometimes be up and also sometimes down. We sometimes do destroy the same bridges that we might be in need of to help us cross back tomorrow.
We sometimes treat people as though there will never be an existence of tomorrow. We also sometimes act as though we will never be in need of help from anyone. Always keep in mind "there is tomorrow"
Joseph in the bible, helped the cupbearer in prison and later on the cupbearer also connected Joseph with Pharaoh. Imagine how Potiphar’s wife will feel after hearing that Joseph was now the Governor of Egypt after she had accused him falsely. The same brothers that sold Joseph away ended up being fed by him, Joseph.
Let’s also not forget the love of our families, thereby, let’s get closer to our friends and families more than ever before to celebrate this wonderful new day which begins a new year. And as we celebrate the miracle of this special day, may we live happily as a family and may our hearts be filled with peace, joy and love.
Happy New Year
