New Year Resolutions

Resolutions
Source.

This is the perfect time of year to kick off a whole new you- to take control of your life and realize some amazing things. But, sometimes keeping resolutions is harder than making them.

The biggest mistake people make is setting resolutions that are too hard to achieve. If you make your resolutions reasonable you will be more successful.

The main problem with New Year's resolutions is that they are overly ambitious and fail due to the individual giving them up too early. Resolutions should be goals, rather than things that are simply desired.

Create a resolution that is broken down into workable steps, each one leading you closer to your final goal. Understand exactly where you want to be at the end of each month or quarter and create a list of actions for that period of time.

If you're committing to exercise more often set a goal for yourself of two workouts per week and then divide your long term resolution into mini-goals of how this will occur. Be sure to choose realistic goals so you can track your progress easily and meet your objective on or ahead of schedule!

By creating short term objectives for yourself, and then breaking them up into long term goals, you create a series of events that contribute to how far you've come instead of only reflecting on how far there is to go.
