you’d ‘never leave the house’

Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly on Friday said the terror threat is worse than most realize, saying some people would "never leave the house" if they knew the truth.

“I was telling [Fox host] Steve [Doocy] on the way in here, if he knew what I knew about terrorism, he’d never leave the house in the morning,” Kelly said on “Fox & Friends.”

He noted there were four major terror attacks in the last week — in England, Egypt, the Philippines and Indonesia — "by generally the same groups."

“It’s everywhere. It’s constant. It’s nonstop. The good news for us in America is we have amazing people protecting us every day. But it can happen here almost anytime.”

Masked gunmen opened fire on a group of Coptic Christians driving to a monastery in southern Egypt on Friday, killing 26 and injuring 25 more.

The people that do those attacks are just sick minded people.

They grow up that way, it is a warriors' indoctrination to get world domination. Everything they teach appeals to men to do their bidding, how handy.

evil men...imagine how the world would be if it was run by women.

The event that made me most scared to leave the house is still the Steve Stephenson killing... some sick people are going to kill total strangers for very sick, personally unwell reasons, or even just complete idiots trying to turn it into some kind of spectacle now with modern media.

I know this may be slightly off topic given the content of the actual article you posted since it isn't the same kind of terror, but it's just what left me slightly more afraid to live my life this last month!

Very bad indeed!!!

"It’s everywhere. It’s constant. It’s nonstop."

What a brilliant Orwellian quote. Just be constantly in fear and never leave the house. Brilliant, Orwell couldn't have dreamed it better.

I am not saying that the terror threat is not real. But just to elevate this to this level to make people totally scared to do anything is just Orwellian.

they're unfounded paranoia..and there's actual caution due to real threats.

Looks like the government doesn't mind keeping the sheeple a little bit in fear, just to make them easier to control.

If they actually gave 2 cents about it, they would have already done something (effective) to eliminate the threat.

that's right.
it's all a gooberment plot.
911, waco, ft hood, (and a few hundred more incidents yearly) never happened right..
nothing to see here...move along..

It's certainly very convenient for them to just let these things happen. It's hilarous that they surveil everyone yet these details always slip through. Either they let these things happen or surveillance is actually useless. In either cases surveillance has to be eneded because it's useless, and harmful to human liberty.

"just let things happen"...oooookaaay.
but what if they tried to DO something? (who is "they" by the way)
Like 'surveil' everyone...oh my.

They could start by not letting in immigrants from questionable regions until the dust settles. What happens in europe now is ridiculous, almost all terrorists are immigrants.

It would be pretty easy to stop that by just restricting immigration from those areas.

There are also many asians that are talented professionals, why does Europe need people from wartorn countries who are known to have suspicious ties?
