If ever you are planning a visit to Nigeria.
Do take out a day from your vacation to visit the city of Ibadan in South West Nigeria.
Ibadan is the capital of Oyo State. The city is famous for its red roofs and old houses and there you get to understand the yoruba culture from an undiluted point. Though rapidly expanding, the city has always been a pacesetter in terms of development in Nigeria.
It housed the first university to be established in Nigeria (University of Ibadan) founded in 1948 formerly the University College Ibadan during the colonial control of Nigeria by the United Kingdom
It was the seat of government of the western regional government of Nigeria when the country still practiced the parliamentary system of government.
A lot of firsts has been attributed to this city.
Pictured above is a shot I took at one of the recreational park in the city known as Agodi gardens. The air in the garden is simply fresh and the environment is simply breathtaking.
Though a lot is happening, it is a city that will forever be talked about in the history of Nigeria's making.
So plan your next vacation well.
