There are some steemains on this platform that deserve an accolade for the good work that they are doing on the steem platform. Such people I call them noble steemains
because they have been supporting this platform in one way or the other.
Over the course of time, I will be introducing you to many of the noble steemains here in our community and trying to get to know each of them little better. I have taken this upon myself to shed more light on who this noble steemains are and what they are capable of doing.
Today I would like to introduce you another great man here on steemit. The founder of @africaunchained, a music lover from Nigeria. Number 1 son of the soil in the building haha!
Welcome to another great episode of it's all about our noble steemains with @dhavey and thanks for taking your time to converse with me @destinysaid
Can you tell our readers reading this how you first hear about steemit and what motivated you to join?
I heard about steem from a friend, around oct/nov 2016, very exciting times then, i didnt register till march 2017, i still regret the decision, exponential reward was still in effect around oct/nov 2016
I was looking for alt source of income and had been hearing of crypto, I was at the bottom where I could try anything short of illegal parols, I was making so little from music.
The desire to grow and impact was the driving force behind me sticking to steemit after seeing its power.
As a steemain what is the biggest challenge you have ever faced since you joined steemit?
The biggest challenge is one I face everyday, the issue of light, data.
It takes a lot to sustain a steemit acc..
Im experimenting with alternative sources of data and electricity, and once I see one that clicks, ill share the idea with the world.
If you ask some steemains they will tell you that they are not steeming for rewards and all that they need is just relationship with other steemains, now if rewards are removed from steem, would you still blog on steem?
I would definitely still use the platform as its given me a chance to share my music with others.
Sure it would suck big time, but if the platform remains viable anf international, there is no need to forsake all my buildings.
Yeah, making friends and building relationships is good on this platform, can you tell us those steemains that as contributed and impacted your blogging experience since you joined steemit?
There are a few @donkeypong is number one, hes a strong believer in what steem and crypto can do for mankind, hes helped me get my feet and has shown me that its more than just posting and getting rewards and rewarding oneself
Another is @surpassinggoogle his tenacity and zeal is amazing, almost like a super human.
What were you told before you joined steemit?
I was told that a friend's cousin was making money from writing articles, I thought it was fiver like stuff and ghost writing, where you help someone write and they pay you.
Lol, i came in and saw a whole country being built.
Do you really think anyone will still visit your blog if they don't have any other thing to benefit from you or your steem allies apart from the messages you pass across?
I dont really care about people visiting my blog, I know those who do, and those who benefit..
I'm of the opinion that people will dump you the moment they no longer need you, and I'm fine with that, I do my thing, help those I can.
Can you tell the community one thing that people will remember you for even if you quit steemit today?
I really can't tell, I just go with the flow, if I quit steemit today, I leave knowing I built the Nigerian community when we were less than 300, humans tend to forget things quickly.
So i wont be surprised if no one remembers what me and my team did in those early days.
If you could give advice to newbies on how to be successful on this platform, what would it be?
On success on the platform, interaction is key, i always take a leaf from my brother @michaelcj, hes been very active, speaks worth everyone.
One thing I notice is that many people are pumpous, they want everyone else to be the first to say "hi".
It takes nothing from you if you're the first person to say "hi"
What is your take on using Bot to support once post.?
Bots are cool, I use them when I really need them, but stay away most times.
As a steemian do you think finding a niche rather than posting some random stuff?
Finding a niche is important.
If there was one thing you could do or suggest to make steem more interesting and attractive to users, what would that be?
Much more diversified delegation from steemit and @misterdelgation
How would you do that?
By giving more communities delegation, rather than "businesses with communities"
If there was a worldwide internet and cellular blackout for a week, what would you do for those 7 days?
Read a few books, I have "power" "there was a country" "star trek collection" "the interpreter" and a bunch of other sci fi books i'm yet to finish.
If you are privilege to talk to someone yet to join steemit, what can you tell the person that will motivate such person to join?
Invest in the future of social media interaction, invest in a gatewsy to cryptocurrency, invest in the gateway to financial freedom.
It's an great honor conversing with you @destinysaid Thanks for coming for the show. Have a wonderful 🤝🏻
