All i wanted was for him to think about his family

I wouldn't say my childhood was not fun, My parents tried their best to give me and my siblings all the love and care they possibly could.. But i always had that feeling that my mother was actually not that happy but i was still a child that knows nothing that to just enjoy all moments as happy as possible.. As i began to grow more and mature i realized some things that was not all that pleasing but since i saw my mother putting on a smiling face i believed that all was well..

My mother was a victim of deceit as she fell into the hands of a polygamous home but she had no choice that to stay strong for her children.. She is the third wife of my father but she stayed away from the other wives or i can say she does not even know the other wives.. My father was a though one and claimed to be a saint with how he always pretend in putting God first, i wouldn't say he was the type that would be proud to show his wife off to other people because he would never go out along side with her, it is either he goes first or he lets her go first then he would go on his own later, he never wears same cloth with her, none that i remember of and it is embarrassing to say but he does not even knows her birthday date let alone we his children ..

He had two of his children staying with my mother but he never allowed my mother train them the way she wanted instead he always spoils my mother in front of them and always bad mouthed his own wife in front of her step children, my father was the type that prefers to do good things for other children that for us his own children and the funniest part is that in our church no one actually knew my mother as his wife instead there was a woman that he was always seen with in the church..

As time went on challenges began to arise when he started getting sick and we had to spend a lot of money on that sickness and my "mother" that wonderful woman despite all she faced still stayed with him going from one place to another just to make sure all was alright to the extent that she had to sell the piece of land she bought with her group members (hair dressing group) sorry my bad i never mentioned that she was an hair dresser.. she had to sell the land just to take care of him and at long last things began to be okay but we had to move away from where we were living at that moment to another place and my dad was given a huge sum of money when he was leaving because that was where he also worked for 23 years..

My father was what i would call a proud man and there is no money he could not spend.. people advised him on different things to do when he was out of there but all fell on deaf ears, my mother who was his wife advised him to start a small scale business but he was of the impression that he is too old to work just at the age of 60, would i call that laziness? to cut the story short all the money got finished that i had to drop out of school just for my younger brother to continue but along the line he also had to drop... during that period my father said he was going to Ghana for work but since then he did not come back again he practically ran away from responsibility which he shouldn't have.. since then my my mother has been working hard alone to fend for us and i thank God i was able to get back to school ( secondary school) and graduated with good result..

Things are not still that rosy yet but i believe with time and with faith all things would be good again... Let me stop there for now.. I would continue my life experience and my present life drama from there.. But let me stop with the question "was he right with leaving us"?
