Ego in relationships aka pride and love

 This 3 letter words have been the reason some relationship have hit the rock, and so many marriages have come to an end , one partner thinks he is superior, the husband claims to be the head and so won't apologise during any argument, and the wife would claim if the husband loves her, he will apologise. And so an argument that is supposed to end the moment it began will be dragged on for months sometimes years. One partner knows the right thing to do but won't do it because he doesn't want to make the first move, waiting for the other partner. Here's a short story;
Felicia and Ambrose had been in a relationship for the past 3 years, but anytime they have an argument Felicia will think to herself"since he loves me he will apologise"even when she's wrong she won't apologise, but Ambrose been a gentleman apologises and makes things right. One fateful day they had an argument more like a confrontation. Ambrose confronted Felicia, he accused her of cheating on him with another but Felicia neither affirmed nor denied it, she just kept mute, Ambrose lost his patience and walked out on her. Felicia awaited the time Ambrose would call and apologise, Ambrose on the other hand was waiting for an apologetic text from Felicia but nothing. Days became weeks, weeks became month still no one was ready to make things right. December came Ambrose received a call from his uncle abroad, he had to leave Nigeria in 2 weeks, he left without apologising to Felicia. February came, it was Valentine's day, Felicia who didn't know Ambrose had left Nigeria, was all of a sudden tired of the silence, and thought Valentine's day would be right for them to make up, she sent him a text expecting a reply she didn't get any, she then called his number only to hear"not reachable"so she began to be worried and when she asked his friends she was told he had travelled out, Felicia was devastated, if only she had known.

Ego, as much as people overlook it is a very dangerous thing, I'd say its a small but powerful tool that will pull down your relationship if you're not careful. The end product of ego is bitterness and regret, if you want your relationship to thrive, you have to lock out ego, a relationship is a job of commitment, forgiveness and overlooking, sometimes you just have to overlook some things and let them go so you can have peace and joy. Stop saying if he loves you he'll beg, he will love you and still not beg because of the same ego in him, so if you want a blissful relationship and a model one you'll discard ego.
