Snakes are Very Clever Animals in my Country

In the past one week, a lot of funny incidents have risen in a West-African nation; Nigeria. Whether it was meant to be a joke or not, I do not know. However, what I know is that snakes have taken far more responsibilities than we might want them to.

We had not recovered from the over 91,000 snake envenoming which leave the good people of the Sub-Saharan Africa in pains every year, yet, another ugly feature rears its head from the snake kingdom. $100,000 (36million Naira) could do a lot of good to a lot of people. The tuition for most Ivy League schools happen to be in that neighborhood and I would not know why the Nigerian government would go this low.

The most painful aspect being that this is the apex examination board and more was expected. How can a worker in an apex education board, tell the press that a mysterious snake swallowed $100,000 from the office of the examination board?

This is as hilarious as it is stupid. The funniest aspect of this is that Nigerians who are supposed to make a big issue out of all this, are exactly the ones making a joke out of this. Too bad, but it all boils down to a hypothesis; we are the architects of our own failures. We have refused to hold our own government accountable enough, in order to ensure accountability. We are the problem!
