Great Minds,
The joy of winning is often sweet and makes the heart crave for more winning. While winning is celebrated and desirous in most cases. In Argument, winning translate to loosing and often regrettable later on.

In arguments, the parties involved each try to prove a point. What's the point anyway "I am better than you". To this every effort is made to show so. While the argument last, everyone seems happy until one wins. The winner is happy and will want to show his superiority and dominance. He talks and brag, walking tall as champion. What happens to the loser, he feels bad and immediately resentment sets in, hatred and anger. He looses self worth and will find a way to either win you back or show you that he can do without you. He can even go to the extreme to avoid you and speak ill of you just to show he is not happy.
Every human is inherently selfish, wants to feel valued, wants to be recognized and seen to be the best. So once you are taking this from him. He will find a way to gain it back . He can do this most times indirectly. Once he lost an argument, he displays an escapist mentality next time, he avoid you and would never engage you in any meaningful issue unless he sees an opportunity to outdo you and regain his lost ego. The value and essence of friendship degrades and lose strength. This brings about broken relationship and often cause a long time friendship to crash.
Simply present your point and avoid argument. Rather, see reasons in your friend's opinion even if you are right find a place of compromise and share the joy of accomplishment. Instead of celebrating momentarily and lose your long time friendship.

Value other person's view and create an environment where everyone is respected and valued. Surely you loose when you try to prove your point. When you want to show you know better.
Add value
Don't prove superiority
You will be more respected when you give respect and value other people's view.

Inspiring post! To build long lasting relationships we must learn to respect one another's opinion. Unnecessary "I too know" lands us nowhere.
