I used to hate him, in a fun way.
The first time I played videogames was after a boring baptism ceremony in the house of a very rich relative. I must have been 8 or 9 years old, and after enduring the boring ceremony, we headed upstairs in this fancy house with some of my cousins and several other kids that I didn’t know. And there it was... A Nintendo Entertainment System. That day changed my life.
I had a blast!!! We spent the whole afternoon playing Duck Hunt. God damn dog!!! He would mock us every time we missed. It was fun.
A couple of hours later I watched some of the older kids play Super Mario Bros - to be honest, I didn’t get that game- I was squinting in front of the TV trying to understand what were they doing. I just wanted to play Duck Hunt again, but trying to convince a couple of older kids playing Mario Bros to leave the controllers aside so I could play was an impossible task, so I just watched them play until my parents came and told me that it was time to go home.
Of course, I already knew what I was going to ask for Christmas, and Santa delivered. I’ve been a gamer ever since, so I guess I owe to that dog.
