Microsoft announces the termination of support for Windows 10 Mobile Products That is, Microsoft will no longer provide new security updates, new non-security hotfixes, and free support.
Microsoft has discontinued its support for Windows 10 Mobile but support for Microsoft Office applications will be available until January 12, 2021. This means that Microsoft will continue to release updates and security patches for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
Microsoft advises users to migrate to Android or iOS devices, but they continue to use Office applications on those platforms.
Microsoft introduced Windows 10 Mobile in 2015.
It was released for the Lumia 950, 950 XL and 550. It was then released on a number of devices in the form of updates.
Windows 10 Mobile was previously named Windows Phone, which was later changed. Microsoft discontinued Windows 8.1 support a few years ago. The company then stopped selling phones in 2018. The Windows 8.1 App Store is also shutting down on December 16th.
Now, it looks like the Windows 10 Mobile App Store will continue to work for a while.
