The Foundation Update, alongside Christmas, is bringing a lot of new players to No Man's Sky. A lot of people that begin aren't too sure what to do. Most especially, those unfamiliar with sandbox games.
If I could only give a few pieces of advice to new players, they would be:
1. Think carefully before reading spoilers online. In most cases, the game does a beautiful job of unfolding itself. Only research/ask once you hit the point of frustration.
2. There is only one correct way to play No Man's Sky - your way. Do what you like.
3. If you feel adrift, follow the suggestions made by NPCs more closely.
4. Take a few minutes to explore the Options tab, and become familiar with the full set of actions available.
5. If and when you're ready to learn more about the game, know there are great resources on Steemit, Reddit (no_mans_sky), as well as the Facebook Fan Page. A well-phrased question will usually receive several replies.
