The building of the the University of Oslo at Karl Johans gate still houses some of the departments of the institute and until 1989 the Nobel peace prize was awarded here.If you are lucky enough to find it open go in to see a beautiful painting by Edvard Munch - ''The sun''.If not, just walk in the open areas and feel the energy.Inspired by Greco-Roman architecture the Old University has an aura filled with history.
Some pictures taken in the open areas today:
Impressing architecture
A little hidden corner for relaxing
Interesting artwork on the cobble stoned university square

I considered going to Oslo University!! Do you like it there?
I am not a student there! The old campus looks great though. Oslo is very a very nice and chill place to live!
Great shots of this place such interesting architecture I didn't know they moved where the Nobel prize was awarded
Yes, the Nobel peace prize ceremony takes place in The Oslo city hall after 1989.
Thanks for the info I have had an interest in following the recipient since in school but never knew where it was awarded now that I think about it
