A house it is not a good investment, except for people living in a high density area with population growing. If that it is not the case and price rise is higher than inflation, it is much likely a bubble.

Furthermore, a bigger house usually means bigger costs (maintenance, taxes, heating/cooling, etc.)

Yup. I always thought of a house as a liability. But renting is not an option. Too expensive. Its very expensive to be poor in norway. But we are living way beneath our means.
