well, ain't nobody got time for that is so widely used now that I didn't want to use it anymore. But I thought about it, true enough. ;-)
And well, students are students. Some manage to describe a simple experiment including its results and the discussion on 2 pages, others seem to fear they'd miss something important and get bad grades if they don't expand it to a third of a bachelor thesis.
Of course, the opposite is happening. The more I have to read, the angrier I get and the less I am willful to overlook small errors that are inevitable on 13 pages of text.
