I Passed Through

in #notpoetry5 years ago

A new day
A new dawn
Place the plan in motion
It will not be long

Too many years
Too many fears
Time wasted insecure
It’s time to fly and say goodbye
The undeniable allure

Yet I’m still stuck here
I dug myself into a hole again
One day at a time
I’m reclaiming my soul again

Mistakes are plentiful
Rewards are not
They all let me go
As the plan was wrought

But I’m not one to make plans
Ideas that shall change hands
An hourglass with eternal sands
Stepping on uncharted lands

I walk through the portal
This new world is resourceful
I don’t need my past
I don’t need your future

A planet as fragile as glass
During the day there are blood red skies
And at night they are turquoise

It’s hard to get used to
Here they cannot subdue you
A plethora of fruits too
Some grow to be the size of you

I thank God that I stepped through the wormhole
Into another world entirely
In which everything is whole
There is no need for anxiety

People work together
No one gets torn apart
Instead of making bombs
They make their planet into art

Seen from the sky so many vivid colors
Still, there is wilderness yet to be discovered
The planet shines at night

As well as in the day
There is no need for rulers
And no room for dismay

What a marvelous sight
There is no war or plight
Coming from the earth it seemed impossible
That such a place could exist
Where consciousness becomes optical

I didn’t bother to ask them how they achieved such a feat
Because they know nothing else
I’d rather not plant that seed.
