I was just sitting at home that day sometimes around last month and my Aunty's husband (Uncle by marriage) called me. He said "Gloria I want to make an art piece for your Aunty and i trust you to do a great job".
After the drawing, i sent him the picture and below was his reply.
Yesterday was her birthday and she loved the drawing. Below is the progressive shot of the drawing.

The use of dark and light - how you chose to add color or remove it - gives such life-like presence to your aunt. She looks as if she is on the verge of telling the punchline to a joke, or presenting with pride a creation of her making. Your work is truly breath-taking. Thank you so much. I use just pencils. I use Generals charcoal pencils and graphite too. But mostly I use the dust of the charcoal pencil for shading.

Sketch art is amazing, the warm glow of your Aunt shows through.
So much detail using pencil drawings, I was watching a program recently on a local artist in Cape Town who was only able to afford cheap BIC pens, each stroke shows talent and love, as I am seeing in this work.
