Downcast (2019)

in #ntopaz6 years ago

ntopaz-image-0ntopaz-image-1ntopaz-image-2ntopaz-image-3I painted this acrylic portrait during the weekend. I wasn't really in the mood to create anything. Nonetheless, here I am with a new painting.

This is mainly a palette knife painting. I just used a brush to paint the background.

Monochrome art holds a beauty of its own. I can focus on the subject matter instead of worrying what colors to use, or where they should go.

I hope you like this painting, and keep an eye out for more posts.

This is a beautiful portrait using only palette knife. I like the different texture and that you made is so dark. I'm not sure which emotions you wanted to express but to me it looks like a word 'thoughtful'.

It's a great piece of art even considering that you weren't really in the mood for painting :)

Thank you for sharing and I wish you many more of such days of not wanting to paint and having such results :)

Lol. This made me smile. Thank you.

Very interesting technique here with unusual result

I only recently tried it and I must say, it's great.

This is excellent, especially considering that you were not feeling creative! I love how all the textures come together into a rather somber face. The monochrome tone certainly adds to the mood.

Thank you, Melinda.

interesting that you say you weren't in the mood to create something. Maybe some of that mood comes through in this portrait, which is quite powerful in a kind of depressing, somber fashion.

I think you have a very valid point. Sometimes we just need to push ourselves.

That is a beautiful work of art, I find it incredible how you can see the face in all those, to say so, careless strokes with the spatula.
The monocormatico is great as you say to not procuarse for the colors if not the work in question-.

A long time ago I had the opportunity to buy some acrylic paintings, but practically if I used them twice it was a lot. Seeing this painting has inspired me! because I realized that you do not need to paint such a large canvas with so many things, to make a beautiful work, maybe you will use them some day.

Anything can be made beautiful. Like van Gogh who painted his shoes. It's all about how you present it. Thank you so much for your support.

Oh! if you're right! not only with art, I think this is good for everything.
Something can be very simple, but if you have some creativity you can do something incredible.

Never tried that medium before. Seems like a fun way to paint on a canvas. I do share the same like for Monochrome art and this piece looks beautiful :D

Thank you! You should try acrylic. It's a fun medium.
