New Painting - Bay of Islands, New Zealand

in #ntopaz5 years ago

ntopaz-image-0I finished painting this small painting of the view from Mt Bledisloe in the Bay of Island, New Zealand. I started painting this art work outdoors en plein air and then I added more detail to it in the studio. I painted this art work in oils.

Bay of Islands, 20cm x 30cm, oil on canvas, painted en plein air to start with, detail added in the studio.

Thanks!

Absolutely magnificent, I adore the way you separated space. It is very effective to layer the hills in a beautiful atmospheric perpective. I love how your trees are interspersed in such a way that it creates a strong rhythm to the painting. Job well done!

Wow this is talent ❤️👏🏻

This is fantastic. How long did it take you to do plein air, and then how long in the studio?

Seriously thought this was a picture, you have an amazing talent!!

WOW, when I was scrolling threw the posts I thought this was a photograph. You are very skilled with the brush my friend. How long did it take you to finish this work? Do you have any shots of the work in progress?

Thanks @jacuzzi, I started this painting outdoors en plein air and then I completed it in the studio which took about eight hours.

I am writing a blog post on my website in which I will be posting a step-by-step guide on how I painted this and I'm hoping to post it in the next few days.
