No one tells you that on your first day you may be teaching students.
No one tells you that you can come across the most confronting situations possible. However in the same time it gives you so much pleasure looking after someone who is terminally ill and in palliative care.
To be able to provide support to them and their families is such a huge privilege and takes a very special person to be able to carry out.
I could be as simple as a warmed blanket, on a sore back. Some extra food for their husband, some explanations to what is happening in a way non-medical people can understand.
I have come out of day one, wiser, inspired, grateful, thankful that I found this amazing career!! I can now see I didn’t fall into this career... I was born for it!
To be able to be with people in their first moments in life and then to be with people and their families in their last moment. Proving comfort and support for them and their families.
It is with great privilege and respect that I say “hello, I am your registered nurse and will be looking after you today!”
Glad you're enjoying it, Teeegs :)
We'll miss you at work; but I'm glad you've found something more fulfilling.
Thanks Matt! Miss you guys too!
Congrats and good luck Ms. @teeegs90.
I know it's a tedious job but I know that your passion to help those who are in need makes you a living hero. God bless!
Thanks

Well done!! Not always an easy job as I can testify to. To be honest, I'm surprised your hospital didn't provide supernumery support for your first shifts. Still all the more credit to you for coping with a palliation and educating as well. Keep us updated how things go 😊
@teeegs90 you were flagged by a worthless gang of trolls, so, I gave you an upvote to counteract it! Enjoy!!
